Concave Mirror Demo

Показать описание
This is a demonstration of the images formed by a concave mirror as a function of the distance of the object from the mirror, showing an upright image inside the focal length and an inverted image elsewhere.

This demonstration was created at Utah State University by Professor Boyd F. Edwards, assisted by James Coburn (demonstration specialist), David Evans (videography), and Rebecca Whitney (closed captions), with support from Jan Sojka, Physics Department Head, and Robert Wagner, Executive Vice Provost and Dean of Academic and Instructional Services.

Youtube videos have become more useful than google. When I googled this, I only ended up getting a bunch of overcomplicated articles. This guy just gives you what you need to know, no other stuff that you never asked for. He doesn´t try to flex about his knowledge by starting to speak about wave properties when I asked for what happens to the image in a concave mirror as your distance from it changes.

Sir, At the 1:42 point on the video, the image shifts from virtual to Real. The Real image is formed in front of the mirror, so how is it seen "inside" the mirror"? And where is the real image formed, we can't see should be seen outside the mirror even without screen. Please help clear our confusion on this point, cause so many have the same doubt. Thanks for the excellent video!

Sir i have a doubt.
Beyond the focal length the image will be inverted and real then how is it possible that real image is appearing in the mirror?

Thanks sir, for your practical demonstration

Sir!!!! If it's inverted image, then is must be real. Then how is a real image obtained without any screen when you go beyond Principal Focus?

If the concave mirror forms real images in front of the mirror in case the object is beyond the focal point, then how do you see an image inside the mirror?

so is the image beyond the focal point a virtual or a real image?

Sir, the image is real and inverted then why are we able to see the image without placing a screen?

Questions:
1- can you do this experiment with the mirror OVER HEAD
2- near pitch darkness
3- one point light reflected at the mirror
4- reflect the point light down into a pool of water as big as the mirror.

My results : The single point light made 1 giant reflection and dozens of miniature ones... and hundreds of smaller ones - ( 1 light makes millions - like a sun )
