Its been said that enough force is applied during direct laryngoscopy
to lift a bowling ball. Video laryngoscopy can allow the clinician to
exert less force on the patients airway as demonstrated in this video.
With direct laryngoscopy, only a grade 3 Cormack Lehane view was
obtained. A grade 1 C/L view was obtained with the CoPIlot.

I notice how you didn’t position the patient with VL and thus your grade 1 view results in a sneaky difficult tube delivery

Teeth don’t like that, must make it the right way and will have a grade 1 view, that’s an easy intubation.
