I’ve been trying to figure this recipe out for years and I finally got it down. I was so excited so I had to share it with my peeps! Yes I know....I get excited over food🙈 So here we go:
And please make sure you handle the peppers with Caution bevause they are spicy and fumes may cause some irritation if youre not use to the spice!

Habanero Hot Sauce or Salsa 🌶

1/2 large white onion
4 garlic cloves
8 Chile de Arbol
2 cups habenero peppers cut in half
1/2 cup vinegar
2 table spoons brown sugar
1 tablespoon salt
1cup water
Splash of olive oil

🌶Toast the chili de arbol peppers in a dry pan until they get slightly browned and crisp.
🌶Remove the stems
🌶Place in a blender and blend to fine powder
🧄 add one garlic clove and 1/4 of the onion 🧅 to the blender with a table spoon of salt 🧂

🥃Put a splash of olive oil in the same pan and blister the rest of the onion, garlic and the habenero peppers.
🧄 leave the garlic in its husk so they don’t burn and gain a better roasted flavor!!🧄

🌶Once the habeneros get a slight toast, pour in the vinegar and brown sugar, simmer for 3 minutes.

💦Then pour in the water and simmer for another 3-5 minutes until peppers feel tender .

🚨 DO NOT BOIL 🚨
We want the chili peppers to maintain their flavor and bright color.

🌶After simmering for 3 minutes, turn off the pot and let everything cool down.

🌶once cooled, add to the blender with the chili de arbol mixture and blend all ingredients as much as possible.

🌶Grab some chips and a drink 🍸🍺and enjoy 😊

Well, well! I made it this morning before I started processing my Habaneros. Wow, it is pretty hot, but I knew it would be. Also delicious. I don't typically do stove-top sauces and I don't often use white distilled vinegar, but I did it exactly as you described. The small amount of onion and the absence of lots of other spices is a great example of moderation in recipe development. There is often the mistake of throwing everything, in big quantities, I just to make sure it is really "different". You are very restrained and that resulted in one fine sauce. I am glad I enjoyed this on my lunch-time hamburger and fries. Thank you so much.

I got about 60 pounds of beautiful, fresh Orange Habanero peppers yesterday for a sauce run. Before I start, I am going to try your recipe exactly as you have described it; even with the Chili de Arbol peppers. I will use this for my personal eating pleasure. I can almost smell the aroma of those peppers already. I don't typically make stove-top sauces, because I specialize in fermented sauces. This will be a pleasant recreational cooking change for me. Thanks again for the recipe and great video.

I also added your channel to my page as a Featured Channel choice on my channel. I like the spicy way you roll.

I have been a bachelor this week while Jan was at the ocean. Today I went to work for the first time on 10 days (I have had horrible chest congestion). I spent the morning processing beautiful habaneros. So, I took about w 25 home and I am going to make your salsa again! I have some beautiful all-beef sausages and nice rolls. I am gonna smother them with this salsa. I know it will be hot from my experience last year, but I am going in. If I don't survive, remember me fondly.

Awesome! Thank you for sharing! Have you tried it with apple cider vinegar? Great recipe!

Great recipe! I make one almost identical to this, but instead of arbor peppers, I use smoked pimento peppers. I also ferment my Habaneros for about a week. Such great garlic and pepper taste. Thanks for this recipe.

Just tried this. I substituted the vinegar for apple cider vinegar and I left out the sticker on the onion (haha sorry jk) and it turned out amazing!! Thanks for sharing this recipe

You should try popping your peppers and other veggies on the grill and get a really nice char... will bring out even more flavors than just in the sautee pan. A red or orange bell pepper is also a nice addition to recipes like this... gives a natural sweetness and greater depth of flavor. And if you ever want to add a sweet element but don't want to add sugar, you could obviously add mango... but honey and honeycomb are WONDERFUL in habanero sauces! Great video, thanks for sharing!

Hi Brit! Me again. I made your sauce again because it is so good. However, last time was a little too much. The fumes had me and my dog gagging! I could not breath and my dog was reacting. I had to grab her and run out to the patio. My habanaro bush keeps producing. I had all these peppers but was afraid to make the sauce again. Well I found a solution. I went to Walmart and bought a hot plate. Now, I cook them on my patio. You may want to add a warning in your video that the fumes can be extremely strong. Especially if you have children or pets. Otherwise, love your sauce.

I tried your sauce and it is fantastic! I think I may have put in too much sugar. It was just a tab sweet for me. Otherwise, thank you for posting. I will be making this several times in the future.

I prefer fruit based sauces with habaneros, they go so well with tropical flavors.

I tried duplicating this but couldn't find any onions with stickers on them 😉

Careful adding hot stuff to bullet blender. Could explode. Mine did. Dangerous.

I will never understand people who cut an onion before they peel it.

If you can't stand jokes or criticism, you might as well close the comments area instead of deleting the ones you don't like.
It will be less miserable.

Another youtube user: "what kind of flavor do add the sticker ?"
My answer: "lazy flavor XD"
Brits Spicy Life answer: "wow i didn't think they existed but here you are. Must be sad being a miserable person. i'll pray for you."
My answwer: "no more miserable than the one who cannot laugh at herself.
Please keep your prayers to yourself, I am not a believer.
Regards"
