great explanation for the meaning, wouldve love if you put more examples of avant garde art. would love also if you could explain why those examples are example of the avant garde movement and not a gloryfied example of (per se) cubism

Thanks but you want to look into the Salon des Refusés, particularly the first one (1863). Don’t know about Henri de Saint-Simon but that’s where you really see the avant-garde happen. It’s not so much a social revolution as gathering of rejects outside of the collective norm banding together.
