I own a S3 and fantastic car with plenty of punch to put a smile on your face and still reasonably efficient in start-stop city traffic. RS3 can be just as practical with near identical cabin but it’s the much higher 100k+ price tag, brand new and high cost of ownership (98 RON, servicing etc) that makes it a less attractive proposition when you can still go bonkers in the S3.

i beat a modified c63 amg on the highway with a 2017 Audi s3 that has a tuning box giving an additional 75bph making it almost 400bhp... since i added the tuning box it pulls so much harder and was only $300, such a fun car even when it was stock

I had a 2016 S3 which I traded for an 18 RS5. While waiting for the RS5 to arrive I took out an RS3. If I had to do it all over again I would take the RS3 I test drove. The RS5 has an 8 speed automatic which is terrible, however the engine is a gem.

I was never a real fan of the S3... I’d rather get the Golf R and save some money to save up for RS3.
