This song makes me so happy...I was young and alive...started working for TWA in 1969 !!

Air travel was a wonderful, civilized experience back then. People were nicely dressed and nicely behaved, food and movies and music and friendly attendants, and no one in the back row shouted "Thank you, Jesus!" when the plane landed.

This was an ad while my Dad worked for TWA in the 60s. He met mom in late 1969 when she was a flight attendant age 22 😄✈️🛫🛬on special assignment at the Kennedy space center in Titusville. I just love this song, I see the love my parents had for each other during this period of time ❤️/had to share!

Both parents worked for TWA and all employees were given a recording of this song on a plastic square orange in color, was a record, grooves like a record and played on the turntable.

TWA and PAN AM... Two great airlines in the 50s/60s. Just a shame they don't exist anymore. :-(

I was a flight attendant for TWA in the late 60’s. Juletta Everhart and everyone got a kick out of the fact I lived behind Dessie’s Motel where crews stayed when I was a little girl! Memories!!

At the TWA Hotel at JFK New York (a TWA1960s-themed hotel in the former TWA terminal), this is the first thing you experience upon arrival -- the song "Up, Up and Away" playing on a loop as you walk up to the building. Loved it.

Remember this campaign and jingle very well -- one of the all-time best! Thanks for posting!

This truly was the greatest airline ad campaign of all-time!   Of course it took place in the Greatest Decade -- the 1960s!

I looked forward to hearing this commercial on the radio while being driven to school as an 8 or 9 year old kid. What great memory. Thanks so much for posting.

In 1969 our family flew OAK-JFK in a TWA Boeing 707 and back on a TWA Convair 880. One of the best summers an 8-year old plane nut could ever experience...

This was one of the all-time great advertising campaigns -- a song just perfect for an airline to use.   And it was during the Sixties -- the greatest decade in world history.

TWA was my favorite airline. I took 5 TWA "Getaway" vacations to Europe with them. I even had a TWA credit card.  In their heyday the carrier had one of the best known public awareness campaigns with exposure a lot of movies and television.

I recall this from my childhood. And the first time airline was going to air force basic training in 1976.
Deregulation began in 1978...so yes I definitely missed the true golden age of passenger air travel.
I couldn't even get an airline job after my honorable discharge and aircraft maintenance experience.

My foster Sister was a Stewardess for Eastern in the mid 60's, and this song always reminded me of her glamorous jet setting lifestyle, or as I imagined it as a 10 year old boy.

Damn, I had such an early vivid awareness in my life that I remember this commercial as a 2-3 year old then. When I hear the 5th Dimension song, I see airliners, not hot air balloons.
