So wait...why did you go with 2 Volts for Part A and 1 Volt for Part B, exactly? I'm a little confused. Does it have to do with KVL? If so, how? What would have happened if you did 1 Volt for Part A and 2 Volts for Part B?

NVM Figured it out: For Part A, 2 Volts would have resulted in more total voltage than 1 Volt (2-(-9)=11>10=1-(-9)). Same reasoning applies for Part B (9-2=7<8=9-1).
