I always feel like I don't like the way my life is going. Watching kids like these, who have to grow up and overcome so fast, is pretty much a kick to my gut. With the exception to the kid that can play basketball at a High School level; if they can persevere so can I.

You know videos like this, especially when it involves such young people, it really put things into perspective. I'm human. I forget. I forget how to be grateful. I forget how to appreciate the things that I have. My health. My strength. The people around me. Sometimes, like any woman, I look in the mirror and think " You know if you lost that ten pounds....then you d look good" or " If u could just get ur stomach a little tighter....if you could just your legs a little smaller..." But then I have to stop and say " Ok Grace. If you woke up with NO legs tomorrow, would you suddenly wish to have back the legs you hate so much ? Or ANY legs for that matter, possibly even bigger then the ones u currently have?" Those things are little things. We focus so much on how things look that we forget about what they r really there for. We r not perfect. But if we r young and healthy...we should focus on that and push forward. Look at all these beautiful kids. They never gave up on themselves.

I was a triathlete and runner had done multiple Ironmans including Hawaii and others and was in a serious MVA and sustained a serious brain injury neck injury and other injuries. I had to relearn how to talk walk read balance and speak again. At two years I was told I would never ever walk without a walker but I was determined. I almost died four years later as I kept getting worse as my pituitary gland was injured during the brain injury leaving me with a very rare Endocrine disorder called central diabetes insipidus which is life-threatening. In 2009 I planned my funeral and we did my last trip as a family.
It was my education that saved me. As I was a researcher before the accident. I have degrees in neuroscience kinesiology motor control and did 3yrs of PhD on deliberate practice and expertise. And also developed a neuromuscular disorder called dystonia Where are all my muscles were going to Spasms. It took 12 years of extremely hard work in therapy treatments and 12 surgeries, and I was finally able to begin running again in April 2016. I went on to run across the Grand Canyon and compete in the worlds toughest mountain 5K run in Alaska called Mount Marathon. Competed in many running races that year. Placed in the top 10 overall females twice

My daughter's kindergarten rejected her on the basis that she is loquacious to stay in the school but I wrote poems and coach her to win speech competitions. She is now more confident and articulate thanks for helping her to use her gift.

my biggest obstacle in life has and continues to be the mental thing. My head is not always right and I would say THAT, more than any other deficiencies that I have inherited, been my biggest challenge.

The problem is abandonment issues. My parents were narcissists and it has left me with a giant empty hole in my psyke.
