Just another Brazilian fan here.

Some of the first Europeans to explore the Amazon basin back in the day claimed to have met tribes of female warriors living in the jungle, with some arguing that these were the actual Amazons from the Greek myths. Though History never confirmed such tales, the river got its name from them (rio das Amazonas = river of the Amazons). Not sure if they are planning to explore this legend in the backstory of the new Wonder Woman, but I think it'd be cool if they did.

The Brazilian Wonder Woman's name is Yara Flor. Yara is the goddess of rivers, lakes and bodies of water in the mythology of the indigenous peoples of Brazil. Flor literally means "flower".

I agree that Brazilian Wonder Woman should have a diferent hero name. But she looks like the most interesting of these new characters.

I agree. If you want more diversity. Make a new character and develop the person. You don't have to replace other characters. It does seem like a copout or just for marketing purposes.
