Apparently, Dirk McQuickly’s 1961 Hofner violin bass, first seen at The Cavern in the ‘Goosestep Mama’ film, was stolen shortly after this was filmed. It was allegedly taken by a passing Liverpudlian and McQuickly impersonator, by the name of Paul McCartney. Many years later, Dirk said of his original violin bass - ‘he’s welcome to it, I was given a P-bass after it got pinched, which is much better……..’

Fifty-five years ago today (January 30th 1969), the pre-fab four played their last ever public concert on the roof of the Rutle Corps building. Ron Nasty was never charged or arrested for pushing a cameraman to his almost certain death.

The Rutles are most original band of all time..we never saw their likes again..apart from that time The Beatles completely stole everything from them..jeest bloody terrible
