Am I the only one who realises that in the Piggy story, we always find a new friend in the chapter after you lose someone.

Here are some examples:

You found Bunny in Chapter 5; after losing Doggy in Chapter 4
You find Zizzy and Pony in Chapter 8, after losing Bunny in Chapter 7
... And if you count leaving Pony at the end of Chapter 9, you find George at the end of Chapter 10.
