This is where it all really began! How nostalgic. It's incredible how far you've come!

The FT Flyer is a very nostalgic plane for me! My dad took me to an AMA expo in Indianapolis when I was young, and I got to make a little rubber-powered Delta Dart. Years later, I learned to fly RC on the FT Flyer.

Nice BluDart, got one myself i built 2 years ago, still flies well.
I put my servos a bit further back and battery sits more or less mid wing position.
If you add a little more dihedral, it will roll in a similar manner to a Nutball.
I only fly mine outside as no indoor around here.
BW 1300 and 9X5 on 2 cells, I only use a 10 amp esc as well, 18 is way over spec and adds unnessary weight, lighter flies better as they say.

Enjoy your vids, keep it up

Gotta say... this FT Flyer is an absolute hoot to fly! Cheap, easy to build and fabulous fun to fly; what is not to like?

Having built and flown both with my kids, they had a lot better success with the FT Flier. The build is a teeny bit more involved, but if you get it together nice and square it flies GREAT!

Josh, are you going to put up with that? Josh set you up Josh! Josh removed a screw from the control horn and probably moved the horn after he flew it while he said he was dumbing it down Josh! I wouldn't trust Josh.. Uh.. Josh! I'm getting confused! Ha ha ha! Keep up the good work Joshes, you guys are a riot! I'm currently making a printable scale of my scratch build F-22. Should I shoot a PDF to you when I finish? Take care guys and Happy flying!

Ive seen all of your episodes and they are great . Something about the combination of you two just works<3 . I was just thinking you guys could get a traditional 4channel trainer with a trainer cord and do a hour or so a day and within a week he could probably solo . You could use the WIlga 2000 or the Durafly Cessna 182 . Hobbyking sells both of those planes ! I believe it would make a good episode as well . Good luck.

They are both really good. The nutball is easier to build though.
