A beautiful song from a beautiful man.

I like how he starts out trying to quiet the crowd to listen to him and by the end of the song you could hear a pin drop. They were captivated

He articulates 'die' as he is dying, 'sigh' as he was sighing, 'shiver' as he was shivering.

Best vocal I've ever heard. Grown man crying over here.

You’re not alone in preferring this version to the studio one. Most times their live versions are so much better. I could give you many examples, but one you really should give a go is White Queen live in Hammersmith 1975. Freddie’s voice is sublime, and the instrumentals particularly Freddie’s piano and Brian’s guitar are so beautiful it will bring a tear to your eye.

Freddie sang the album version all by himself (all the harmonies are his)

No one had a voice like Freddie he was part of my generation I grew up with his music and after all the concerts I went to I never got to see queen or Elvis my deepest 💔 regrets

This is very reminiscent of a classical composition / Romantic period. Superb songwriting. Very pure and stripped down.

Theres nobody that could ever deliver a song with more feeling and emotion than Freddie Mercury. And be pitch perfect live. 70s were a great time to be alive. White Queen live at Hammersmith Odeon in 1975 is off the charts beautiful.

Freddie and his piano to perform by more than 100.000 people at this concert. Absolute beautiful.

He was an interpreter, not merely a "singer". Much like someone who translates language, Freddie's interpretations bring us closer to understanding the music. Everything from the aching vulnerability of his falsetto to the catch of breath just before he sings "you take my breath away" helps us to feel the song and not just hear it.

I agree, this is such a beautiful performance, the vulnerability in his voice. I love Freddie's 70's era, his look, his voice...
