What does the COLOR of your URINE mean?! | A Urologist Explains

Have you ever wondered what the color of your urine means? What does the color of urine mean for your health? The color of your urine says a lot about your health so next time you urinate make sure you take a look before you flush! I'll discuss red urine, brown urine, yellow urine, clear urine, orange urine and green or blue urine.
Do you need to get alarmed? When do you need to see your doctor and when can you hold off, hydrate and see if it clears up.

Before my kidneys failed I got flu like symptoms then my urine would turn brown. It usually lasted for about 2-3 days then it cleared up. I've been on dialysis for 8 years now. So from my side PLEASE listen to what she saying here, I was reluctant to go to a dr. and look where it got me today. I'm telling everyone reading this comment, kidney failure is not something you want to live with. The sacrifices you have to make is hard, extremely hard.

I wish all doctors was like you! I live in Denmark where we have "free" Healthcare but I've never felt like any doctor I had cared about me as their patient or even had the knowledge...

This causes me to try to stay away from the doctor...

I recall in grade school or at parks I would sometimes see yellowish-brownish urine already there. I thought it was weird. Glad mine is pale yellow.

Depends on some medications& vitamin supplements that you take too...And also for women who are on their monthly cycle...And, I also know certain foods can effect the color too....But, I never heard of Brown or blue urine good to know...I have a renal cyst which causes some blood in my urine and is monitored by several doctors for me....Especially my urologist, and primary doctor..
