The hate is unjustified imo. The front electric drive is more or less a power adder, just like supercharger or turbo...Also EV and ICE cars can coexist. They each can have a purpose and proper use case. We have both and love them all!

this is the perfect example of a marketing failure. no one is calling the McLaren P1 or the Ferrari LaFerrari an "Electric Car", when they have the same hybrid technology as the E-Ray.

I was considering purchasing a Z06, which if you add the $8, 500 Brembos(Standard on the Eray) the $2, 500 gas tax(Eray doesn’t have one), and the $5, 000 base price above the Eray, costs $16k more than the Eray.
And with the Eray you have a car that is faster 0-60 and the 1/4 mile, it’s so worth it and priced just right.
I’d pay $12k for a wide body with Z06 suspension parts. I’d pay $12k for an Emotor/AWD system and all the accompanying software, add the Mag ride, nice spoiler, larger Rims/Tires, Brembo Brakes, performance Exhaust, and the list goes on. For the $16k savings I’m purchasing the HTC, 3LZ, Front Nose Lift, and other goodies.
It’s so worth it, especially when it’s beating, or keeping up with, cars that cost what, 2-3 times as much? And the maintenance cast on a C8 vs those far more expensive cars???
Thank you Tadge for making the C8. Any form of the C8 is the best bang for the buck.

What I don’t understand is the hate behind that car. 2 second 0-60 and it’s still got the v8. Ferrari has had mild hybrid hypercars and Porsche with the 918 as well…oh well

SVJ is closer to that Corvette weight than you think Mike. I think the E-Ray sounds amazing and is an awesome upgrade over the Stingray! This is the first AWD Corvette and this is only the beginning. Wait until the Zora and I bet everyone will lose their minds!

Almost feels like the E-Ray is the Grand Sport for this C8 generation. It uses the Z06 shell, some wide wheels/tires, mag dampers as standard, and more aggressive "aero" but still maintains the LT2 from the stingray. Expensive, but cool I think. Will be very interesting to see the ZR1 and ZORA models in the next few years.

Kinda funny considering that for the type of driving Mike does, the E-Ray is easily the best C8. If he were a track rat, of the kind with turns, the ZO6 would absolutely be better. The ZO6 also sounds better (above 5000 rpm). So the ZO6 has two advantages - circuit racing and exhaust sound. The E-Ray has better potential for power adders and the electric motors "torque fill" and give instant response while the turbos get to their thing. Plus for lower speed corners the electric motors are amazing, they way they claw you out of the turn and shoot you into the next one. That said, I'd still get the ZO6, just for the uniqueness of the motor.

The weirdest thing about the E-Ray is the battery is 1.9 kWh. Which is just 2x the capacity of a high end electric BICYCLE. That e-ray battery Weighs about 50lbs including shielded casing. It's not realy an EV. Thus why it has the 6.2L LT2.

You conveniently neglected to mention that the E ray smoked the lambo in the 0 to 60 twice!
Not so awful after all.
And the ERay is much more civil as a daily driver. Now think of it, when do you really want speed 95% of the time? It's off the line. The ERay is better. And, Ilike the sound

@13:35 The E-Ray already beats that SVJ from lunch. It lost from rolling cause the weight and the less hp disadvantage. Imagine adding supercharger or turbos to the E-Ray. The SVJ will just play catch up all the time. Boost District already has a TT E-Ray that runs 1/4 miles with 9.7 secs.
