Im from Brazil. This isn’t breakfast, it’s a snack. It can be eaten in the morning, but hardly ever alone

As a brazillian, I honestly don't know anyone who eats pão de queijo for breakfast, since it's more of a snack for us too.

In Brazil, we mix sweet tapioca starch and sour tapioca starch (it's fermented), something like 60 to 40% ou 70 to 30%. The sour one makes it fermented like a bread and crunchy outside and the sweet one gives it structure and smoothiness.

It will be a good breakfast, because you can open them and put stuff in them. Don't forget the salt!

I've been to Brazil a few times and in my experience, these are almost always eaten as a snack or as part of a larger breakfast.

As a Brazilian I would like to say...

You were right, its better as a snack. That's because it is a snack. If its used in breakfast, it is incorporated with other things such as fruit and toast etc.

I grew up in Brazil and this is what I remember the breakfast being : a fruit, usually half a papaya or a banana and sometimes Star fruits or Brazilian cherries. For a drink it would be something like a glass of orange juice, a cup of coffee; black, au lait, or chocolate milk for children, and the most important part was the buttered pão Frances with ham and cheese. I will always remember how beautiful and colorful the table looked set each morning.

Even if this was what they eat for breakfast, I'd be totally down with it. Sounds delicious to me like I could totally eat that whole plate

As a Brazilian I can say that in Brazil we eat like a huge meal! Bread, pao de queijo, ham, cheese, coffee! We don’t only eat this on breakfast. You could also try the cuscuz, it’s very good 🤗

Pão de queijo is only a component of a whole Brazilian breakfast
Black coffee is a must, with milk if you wish (no cream or cold/iced coffee allowed, we absolutely don't do that here lol)
Traditional Brazilian "french" bread with butter, might be toasted
Add cheese and ham to the bread if you want a "misto quente"
Crackers and "maizena" biscuits are a nice side dish
Have fubá cake or Pão de queijo if you're looking for something to spice up your breakfast
And that's mostly it, but this is only true to the region of São Paulo

Brazilian here 🙋🏼‍♀️ It is NOT a breakfast! It is part of our breakfast meals.
Pão de queijo is absolutely delicious! Worth the try.

ACTUAL Brazilian breakfast: Coffee ("breakfast" is literally called "morning coffee" here) + bagel (we call it french bread, it's a smaller version) with butter and cheese or a cream cracker with butter. That's what you usually see in most houses, but a good pão de queijo in the morning also makes my day 😋

I'm from Brazil!! I'm glad he likes it as a snack. Pão de Queijo is so good but i understand why some people don't like eating it in the morning, because a lot of us actually don't eat it as breakfast in Brazil haha

They look good.
Have tou tried "Kedgeree" from Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 yet? A mildly curried rice with onions, smoked fish & quartered boiled eggs, sprinkled with herbs, usually parsley.
Originally an Indian dish made from lentils, but something that got changed & made popular by Scots returning from there during colonial times. One of my favourite Sunday breakfasts.

Everyone talking about "I just love handling balls in the morning"

Me: "this must be the stickiest thing I've ever made" 🤔

As someone from Minas Gerais (the state of Brazil were these come from), I have to say that you forgot the hot coffee with milk, it makes the experience better, also, using Canastra Cheese (which I guess you didn't have access too) makes them even better
