Waterman Sam

Sam is the hero next door.

The unending labyrinth of identical welsh houses that is Ponty Pandy serves only to perplex, and torment those within its insurmountable walls. Sam has repeated the same scenario 97 times already, in which he fruitlessly attempts to quell a flood with flames. Someday, he will find a way out.

One cannot disregard, Samuel is in absolute fact the heroic individual who is living next to one within the confines of a neighborhood

Something I find interesting about this animation is that it seems to be set in a world where water and fire are swapped, and it implies that Sam has been a "waterman" for a long time. Despite these factors, the fire doesn't help get rid of the water because it can't. Even in this strange world, things still make sense. But if this is the case it makes you wonder how "watermen" exist in this world in the first place and how Sam became popular even if nothing he ever does works. The reset button at the end also implies that every time he fails to stop the water, he has to relive the same day. Since he must always fail due to logic, his entire life could just be him doing this over and over again and that's how we got here in the first place. People in this world with the job of a "waterman" must be forced to do this over and over, basically stuck in their own time loop, possibly with hardly any memory of why they're doing this in the first place. It's pretty deep stuff when you think about it, even if it was only made a funny animation parodying a kid's show.

Or maybe I just overanalyse things...

The way the girl's hand is drawn really does reveal the Amount of sanity Xploshi has.

I can't express how relieved I am to have someone like Sam in my neighborhood. I know if my house spontaneously floods, he can boil me alive like a lobster with his flamehose.

I had the strangest of problems the other day. The water spread though my whole house! Thankfully Waterman Sam was there to save the day, he truly is the hero next door!

This is literally how being powerless feels, but made into audio and visuals.

Each time I reach for a glass of water to drink, I remember Waterman Sam and the dangers that come with water. My shriveled, drying body has nobody to thank but Waterman Sam. Who knows what I would be without him. He truly is the hero next door!

And so Waterman Sam's career went down the drain.

Now we just need Earthman Sam and Airman Sam

As much as this is disturbing, I love the Station officer floating through the water. Idk why it's so funny to me. Also the fact Sam looks both ways at the end like, "Hold up where are the houses"

Very interesting concept, a person who uses flamethrowers to extinguish water. I never even thought of that lol.

Put this on a loop and it makes sense. Waterman Sam just never learns.

The way he gently grips the alarm clock is everything

Must've been an electrical water. You usually have to use napalm for those. Common mistake.
