Basic telescope types explained.

Today, we are going to explain the most common telescope types available for the amateur hobbyist, their basic optical design and the most relevant pros and cons of each type.It’s not an exhaustive review of all technical and optical characteristics of those models.

It’s all about explaining basic concepts for those willing to start in this wonderful hobby, so they can better understand the jargon they will find when thinking about their first equipment purchase.We will focus on the most common ones, refractors and newtonian reflectors, and also look to Schmidt-Cassegrains and Maksutov-Cassegrains.
