Not gonna mention that it’s literally a law in Germany, whether you’re well mannered or not you gotta do it

It's Germany.
"Very well mannered" only partially as the German law nowadays forces you to make the emergency lane (Rettungsgasse) or else you'll lose your driving licence and get fined. The emergency lane is even taught in driving school, so everyone knows how and when to make it.

I live in the U.S., and when he said, "Everyone is super well mannered". I knew immediately it wasn't us.

It’s called an “emergency corridor” in English. My BMW manual mentions it in the autonomous driving section.

It’s amazing how well mannered people can be when they’re threatened with license suspension and court appearances isn’t it?

As a german I never saw a Rettungsgasse this fine

I did this in the U.S. and the a-holes behind me used the space to drive up. We ended up a bigger mess when the ambulance could not get through

In Germany, not doing that is literally a crime, which they make damn sure to fine you for. Also you lose your license for a month and get 2 'traffic points' (With 8 points, your license is gone for good)

For all the people who don’t know, if you don’t want to lose your license, then do this. This is Germany btw

We have a similar law in Jamaica. Except our emergency vehicles are permitted to hit anything that refuse to yield. And you can't claim damages if there were sirens😂

Germany is one of the few countrys were you have to know more than parking to get your drivers licence

As a Brit living in Germany for over ten years the first time I witnessed this it took me a moment to understand what was going on, and when I could hear the siren in the distance I quickly understood.
The drivers are good in Germany I never had any problems with road rage or witnessed any .
