Such beauty and simplicity Mike Oldfield has to be one of the best guitarist on the planet . + His compositional skills are unmatched. Such spiritual music. So glad I revisit this from time to time. What a fantastic job Paddy Moloney did on the Uillean Pipes. It sound like Mike is playing them, as it's so in keeping with the composition. It sounds so deep, it goes to the core of your being. Those pipes bring tears to my eyes!

Lost my copy some years ago when my cds were stolen from my car. Hard to find, and one of my long time favourites. Easy to imagine riding the foothills on my big brown beastie.

I believe that's a bodhran played around 12 mins. It's an Irish percussion instrument, with a double headed stick, (allowing a fast double beat by twisting the wrist) striking a circular drawn skin. The tone can be slightly tweaked by pulling on the cross strings spanning the back of it.
