I respect the minimalism especially since my folks liked to hoard but thrifting a little decor could give the house some personality and keep things out of a landfill.

Having empty cupboards is one of my favorite things, honestly. Maybe it’s the lack of decision fatigue or something. If I have less, I can’t stress about the options.

Honestly I love finishing a product and then swapping to a zero waste alternative makes me very happy 😊

As a maximalist I love seeing so many things in my sight (like having my room as a mini art gallery) but I respect minimalism too, living in a consumer world I don’t know how they say no to so many eyecatchers! But in the end I even have made a a couple switches to more eco friendly things!

I think my favorite thing is getting to decide what works for me and my household. We likely won’t ever be minimalistic but doing swaps like glass containers, reusing prepackaged containers, dryer sheets, and overall just buying from more B-certified and sustainable brands when I can makes me feel good. I hope to get to a point where I compost and don’t have any food waste!

I love the calm of the kitchen! Not seeing all the labels of all the different brands is so soothing to me - esp as a busy mum. I use a white glass sharpie instead of a labeller for items and I love the look.

One of the things my family does is use old clothes that are torn and such or simply not in good shape as what we call mess clothes. Painting? Mess clothes. Dying my hair? Mess shirt/clothes. Playing in mud? Mess clothes. We do this until we literally can't wear them or they don't fit and either turn them into rags or (if we can) donate them

I have bit of a maximalist kitche grandma house, but its all thrifted lol. So i think it still counts. Also all my kitchen appliances are thfrifted too, my fridge is one from 1948 that i rewired part of to work again instead of buying new.

How does not decorating your walls = zero waste? A nice picture or painting can last several generations, if taken care of. At the very least, good art can last a lifetime. And if you dumpster dive or thrift, or purchase from sustainable artists... even better! 😊

I love not going into big box stores ever. I can't stand the fluorescent lighting, the smell, the enormous size, and seeing 50 of the same item on a rack. I also love that second hand clothing means you already know what it'll look like after it's been washed!
Keep it up!!

I took my own container to a restaurant the other day for the first time. It wasn't as strange as I thought it would be. Would definitely do it again!

I am super inspired by your content and find it very peaceful, I have just got into the more sustainable and minimalist lifestyle because I just got so tired and overwhelmed by always going with trash and recycling. Have just now this past week switched all my shower products to solid form because had to reestock on everything and it feels so nice knowing that I will not have to go with any recycling when it runs out. Leaving more time for me to do other things that I love instead of cleaning ❤ and it looks super cute as well

I have loved the change in my life. I went from typical American consumerism to a much more eco-friendly and "less waste " style of living.
My husband and I are so happy! We are minimalistic, and we have found that LESS IS TRULY MORE.
My favorite part was decreasing all of the store bought cleansers to 2 all natural homemade items plus decreasing all clothing linens and household items.
We are free from need, and it feels great!

I LOVE the plants in your bedroom and the setup. Can you do a video on what plants those are?

Most of those things don't bother me. But I have to have decor to make my home feel warm and welcoming. I thrift it all and make what I can, but plain white walls are so cold and unwelcoming, I would get depressed. I also don't hoard decor either. Unless its a holiday decoration, if I'm not feeling something anymore and want to change it, I give it away and thrift something new! With so many "things" floating around the world, I think it's important to keep their lives going, even when I'm finished with them.

I agree with all of that. I do not mind any of it, but others hate just because it’s not the norm.
