Let’s embark on a geopolitical tour of the Middle East:

Firstly, there is the Syrian Civil War, ongoing since 2011, which revolves around a power struggle between government forces, rebel groups, and many foreign interventions.

Meanwhile, the conflict in Iraq encompasses a battle against extremist groups, sectarian tensions, and political instability.

Next up there is the Yemeni Civil War, which began in 2014 and is a conflict between Houthi rebels and Yemeni government forces, exacerbated by external military interventions.

And of course, there is the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, persisting since 1948 - which is a long-standing territorial and political dispute, with recent escalations in 2023 marked by fighting between Israeli forces and Hamas.

All of this while wider Iran-Israel tensions, simmering for decades, have intensified in recent years.
