Pretty sure that when those cars were donated by individuals, they didn’t expect them to be sold off…ear marked for fundraising efforts?

Those are all some pretty special cars. I bet they get way more than 100 million.

This is disgusting. I attended the 500 over 20 years straight and those cars were donated to the museum. Those cars were not donated to be sold for a profit. Tony Hulman must be rolling over in his grave. What's next, sell the 1930s Grand Prix trophy's from Rudolf Caracciola. Great going Roger Penske.

Having Sotherby's handle the auction instead of one of those clown show U.S. vehicle auction houses was a good idea.

That gt 40 if it was raced it will bring at least 4 million because they do not come up very often

Is the museum a nonprofit or a subsidiary of Penske/IMS?

It does make sense to concentrate the collection. And, those are some astonishing cars. I think they only built like 32 of the 250LM back in the day.

But you all realize that chances are these cars will probably NEVER be driven again! Sad actually! I mean would someone actually WANT to DRIVE a multimillion dollar car?!

If they have a 59 El Dorado, I'm on it!

Yeah right, selling off part of the collection to “enhance” the collection, because people only care about “Indie” cars and nothing else.

Selling off these wonderful cars is a sin. This is just wrong. I’ve been to the museum back in 2014 and the cars they are selling are the ones I was most interested in.
