Liverpool are open to offers for Joe Gomez from clubs who want to sign him on a permanent basis.

The defender showed his versatility by filling in at full-back last season but is behind Virgil van Dijk, Ibrahima Konate and Jarell Quansah at centre-back and Liverpool are happy with their four first-choice full-backs.

As previously reported, Gomez was offered as part of negotiations with Newcastle for Anthony Gordon earlier in the window - meaning there is a value Liverpool have set for him.

Gomez is yet to hold talks with new head coach Arne Slot, which will happen when he returns to training after the US tour.

Surprised to see this considering he’s a versatile player who can play RB, CB, LB, and DM.

Gordon is not my fav, tired of people pushing this click bait. I always like Gomez

Why would you let Gomez go?
Verderberg was impressive, should be given an opportunity.
We shouldn't sell our best, there'd be tired legs towards the middle of the season. Experience of Gomez is needed.

Don’t sell him man, he’s versatile and was great last season.Didn’t know I’d ever wanted JG to stay at liverpool

Id rather sell Sepp than Gomez. Gomez can play anywhere and Konate is very injury prone.

He is 27 and in his peak years, why would we sell him? He is so important due to his versatility and quality. This is ridiculous.

Gomez when fit is class. Very versatile, now in to his peak years and we need 4 decent CB's. Unless Van De Berg is staying who is tipped for big things???

Sky Sports pursuing their usual anti everyone else agenda whilst fawning over their beloved Man Utd who Sky just can’t accept are finished as the game’s dominant club.

I disagree. Since he came back from his injury I've been more critical of him than anyone else. But last season he's been our most reliable defender along with Virgil. If he is supposed to be surplus to requirements, surely Konate should be in that pot as well. Exception would be if Joe wants to move onto a new challenge where he is guaranteed to start every game, that I could understand.

Sell him sharply and bring in a ball playing left footed CB/LB. Hincpie, Inacio or Shotterbeck are very good options

LFC fan here, we need to start a petition to keep him. Leave him alone!

That front line is massive, They _maybe_ need to sure up the back line and a player or two in the midfield (big maybe), but there's no need to rush anything, Klopp left that team in good shape.

This season will be about Arne's tactics, man management, and skill as a coach.

He's a rejuvenated player in under Klopp last season and longest service member of the team after since Hendo left the club so he deserves both England regular place and Liverpool vice captain at the very least

Not sure this makes sense, matip left, if Gomez goes we are two experienced CBs down. Seems stunningly stupid, but then that’s often Liverpools cheap arse transfer policy.

Get whatever you can for him and never look back.
