Velero – the open source Kubernetes backup and recovery tool

Something important that has been added recently is that velero now has the ability to not only take snapshots, but then take those snapshots and upload them to the backup location (AKA backup from snapshots). This basically removes the need for the filesystem backup in most cases as all the files will already exist. (tho the fs backup is still an option ofc, and there are some steps that you may want to take in some cases to make the files stable for the snapshot regardless of snapshoting).

With this, velero is now, IMO a true, full K8S backup solution.
