If there are sand is it mean was there planet but became with out an atmosphere ?(asteroid or comet) are there two kinds?

For me there are no sand at the out space maybe some kind of salt

I am sorry to be negative but these orbital science packages are adding to the manmade constructs in all types of orbits which are a danger to human occupied spacecraft. Space junk is stated as becoming seriously worrisome.
