Visiting Kalamata, Greece | Budget Travel

We're checking out the sand, sea, and views in Kalamata, Greece, where we've rented an apartment for 2 weeks.

This is where my yiayia was from. It isn't actually that touristy, I was there 4 weeks ago and has a tiny bit of tourism but was mostly locals. It is lovely and I'm so glad you went and enjoyed it! It actually has the warmest average temperature during winter than anywhere in Italy or Spain, or Europe, and has a lot going for it. I hopefully would love to buy a house there someday. Such Beautiful sparkling waters… Here in upstate New York we have glacier Fed Lakes and yes they can be chilly even in the middle of the summer! What was the highest elevation you hiked in your travels? Mt. Marcy, in the Adirondack Mts of NYS is approx 5, 300ft (1, 600m). I’ve never hiked it, but my husband and other family have. My speed is 1000 -2000ft. LoL
