I’m the first caller. I don’t tell people I have autism or include it on applications. Nobody ever knows unless I tell them. It doesn’t affect me. I also asked my wife about what she means about the 9 on a scale of 1-10 thing and she tells me that I have a short temper. While I do agree with this to a certain extent, we are currently in an employer market. I am not getting interviews as much as I may have presented and I know it’s not me. It’s this job market. As far as looking for other jobs outside of the field goes, I know I’d have to dumb down my resume and leave my education off of it if I want to find “something” for now.
I do just wish you let me finish and say what I had to say before you told me that I’m not trying.
I go out there every day and try to work Uber or Grubhub or DoorDash from 11am-3am 16 hours a day just to make the bare minimum. Thank you for the book though. Can’t wait to read it

Their response to the first caller was terrible. That man had nothing awkward about him. He simply was overqualified for those jobs. They should have listened to the rest of what he had to say instead of talking over him.

I tried to keep listening after that, but this was the first episode I'm not feeling.

The first call was painful. Calm down and listen to the caller.

To the first caller - I'm autistic too. Personally I never mention this on my resume, application or at interview because some people don't understand it and might come to incorrect conclusions. What I noticed about myself is my eye contact used to be really bad. I've now practised and although its still an effort nobody would notice. Ask your friends and ex colleagues to be really honest and point out anything that might be hindering you. Also accepted you might just be struggling because they see a really smart guy and question why you want an entry levels job. The solution to that might be to have 2 resumes. One for the job you really want and a more basic version for the stop gap job.

Having been where the first caller is, he just needs someone in his corner supporting him. It took me a long time to get a job.

For the over qualification: Maybe not include sophisticated degrees on your resume that goes to a "simple" job. Just put the necessary info and a small extra value on what you can bring in. Maybe instead of saying you have a degree, say you have some experience with the subject or that you are interested it in. For Packing meals your degree simply might not be relevant. Hope you folks find what you are looking for!🙏🏼

Anytime someone says they want to be a landlord, you guys should recommend that they go watch a few hours of Judge Judy. That'll scare them straight.

I am in the same position. You are overqualified for normal jobs. They cannot scream at highly educated people that’s the problem. Plus no connections!

Ramseys such a pro. It shows when he’s not hosting.

Regarding putting the house in a trust - there are some places where you pay lower property taxes on your primary residence (versus a second home, rental property, etc.), and having the house in the name of a trust may disqualify you from the tax break. (We just learned this when we made that mistake!) Talk to a local attorney and make sure to ask about any effects on property taxes.

Definitely more of the fan of Dave’s approach to people that don’t have a job not telling people they are “differently asked”

I am in Norwood, MA. Loved hearing the last caller's home owner/real estate investments questions. George, you are awesome. Ken are you too! Thank you for all you do. Love your sense of humor and your friendship.

George called to brag about his problems of paid off boats and houses. “Idk what to do with this 300k boat that I just bought with CASH, please help me” 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄

I know people who hire, and yes, being overqualified is a real thing. They don’t wanna take time to train someone who will, they think, leave at the drop of a hat for their dream jobs

We see the Ramsey team developing and especially the personalities. They are the most visible, ofcourse. We as viewers see only such a short and small part of it all. Everyone has room to grow and polish themselves. The whole base of this show is about owning past mistakes and looking ahead with new insight and mindset. Please be less judgmental and more supportive towards the personalities. Supportive doesn't mean not being honest with what you see, but be realistic and kind. Its about building up, not breaking down. We all can get better at that, regardless of being a listener, personality on screen or behind the scene. Be kind🙏🏼

Arizona teas and those big Lipton teas drinks are the only gas station drinks I’ll purchase because of cost.

So, I'd need to buy a $60 Costco membership to buy their $1.50 hot dog.
