Funny how a lot of these big signing were not very successful at Barca while their academy players seem to shine more then the Madrid style signings

Messi was on the team since he was young. There was no expensive signing, they just offered to pay his medical for his growth deficiency that his parents could not afford.

On 26 August 2009, after long negotiations between Shakhtar and FC Barcelona, [4] a deal was reached for the transfer of Chygrynskiy.[5] The transfer was valued at around €25 million and included the clause that Chygrynskiy play in the UEFA Super Cup for his former club, coincidentally against Barcelona. On 31 August 2009, Barcelona confirmed that Chygrynskiy had passed a medical and signed for five years.

He struggled didn't he? Then again, the Ibrahimović move to Barcelona from Inter Milan for £40m plus Samuel Eto'o still surprises me! Eto'o went on to win a famous treble in his first season in Italy so I guess it worked out well for him...

Chygrynskiy was the first Ukrainian player to ever play for Barcelona and was expected to display his ability with the ball at his feet and "aerial presence and strong defensive skills" .Chygrynskiy made his debut for Barcelona on 12 September 2009 in La Liga against Getafe CF.[10] He played a full 90 minutes on his debut, a 2–0 victory. Though Barcelona retained the title, Chygrynskiy fared poorly in his debut season with the club. Despite this manager Pep Guardiola had been keen to keep him

Really surprised Alexis Sanchez hasn't worked out, looked such a great player in Serie A and World Cup 2010

Agree, one of the best and most underrated wingers, but he is 24 years old, so he is no longer a "young" talent.
But great great player.

How??? Ronaldinho was a legend at Barca, Sanchez is a class player, Fabregas has proven to be a top class midfielder, Neymar will probably be amazing paired up with Messi, Dani Alves had his time in the limelight too, and we can't forget David Villa who is just a gem. I would say most of the players turned out to be great... Besides Ibrahimovic
