I really feel bad for the citizens of Hong Kong, being allowed grow up with free thinking, freedom of speech, access to uncensored information, access to the world, right to protest, and right to a fair trail... being told when you would lose these things but slowly loosing what you’d consider your rights before you are supposed to would be awful. I couldn’t imagine what I would feel like if this suddenly happened in my hometown..

When I first read the title I thought this was going to be some like superhero parody where Joshua a teenager tries to get the hang of his newly acquired superpower, kinda like spiderman

I was born in Hong Kong and am a permanent resident of the city and am living here now. Mr Joshua Wong does not represent me. For the record, the very same politicians who are decrying lack of democracy in Hong Kong were the ones who rejected a proposal in 2015 for universal suffrage to elect our Chief Executive. They have leveraged the political misstep by our Chief Executive in proposing an extradition bill to China (which philosophically was not improper) to perpetuate these protests, even after the government had stopped the proposal. The anti-extradition bill was only a front -- the protests are just simply anti-government -- as can be seen by the bundled "Five Demands" deal which can easily be leveraged into perpetually being "not good enough" and therefore continuing the protests. Before these protests broke out, Hong Kong was the third freest place in the world -- we enjoyed freedom of mobility, freedom of speech, freedom of sexual orientation, freedom of religion and much more. Since the protest broke out, ordinary citizens like myself have lost the freedom of mobility -- we have to avoid certain locations in the city for fear of violent protests and our airport -- once the most efficient in the Asia -- is intermittently closed due to attacks by "peaceful" protesters. We have also lost the freedom of speech -- any expression of anti-protest sentiment, either online or physical, will be attacked by the pro-protest camp (as witnessed this week by a school teacher getting beaten on for signing the national anthem). I can pretty much bet this comment will solicit some unwanted comments. We have lost the freedom to choose what we wear -- wearing black can lead us into trouble. The situation is worrying, as the so-called "pro-democracy" camp intimidate ordinary citizens from speaking our minds, provoke the police (then cry wolf when the police enforce the law) and block true democratic progress in the city.

A brave young man is on the path to chart his own destiny and build a future for his motherland against a brutal and oppressive regime. I wish he can stay safe and move cautiously after this public announcement over his political dream for HK.

No one, let alone a kid from a middle income family wants to stand out and devote all his time and energy to risk his own well being, freedom and future to dissent a government as powerful, wealthy and dictatorial as CCP if the society has adequate equality, and opportunities let alone human rights for all Hongkongers and not just the elites few. Good for you Joshua.

The real Hongkongers couldn't be able to hold their tears by watching this trailer after 2019. These youngsters and many HK youths were arrested by the HK government. Very sad :'(

There are many negative comments from Mainlanders. Nevermind mind them. Most Hong Kongers want democracy.
