I'm a Sierra Leonean and I'm so happy someone like you is putting our country's history here, so the world can know about us. I've already subscribed and also share your video to anyone I know because Salone history is hidden from so many people in the country, that's why we're imitating other countries culture and even read about their history in our schools.

My Dad was from Freetown, Sierra Leone. I've never been to the country and he passed away a few years ago so I'm trying to connect with that part of me. Very fascinating video, and I only wish my Dad was here to have the many conversations we would be having abouut these topics. I can only look forward to seeing him when I too, pass on.

Truly heartbreaking, I watched your previous upload on him and thought just the same thing sad😢, who would’ve known the person he so selflessly put in power would’ve killed him. But to Siaka’s defense troop tried to assassinate him twice so Bangura was essentially trying to kill him.

Brigadier John Amadu Bangura was a celebrated Sierra Leonean soldier and nationalist whose life ended in tragedy.
A staunch advocate for democracy, he played a pivotal role in restoring civilian rule in 1968 after a military coup, earning him widespread admiration.
Despite his efforts to stabilize the nation, political tensions led to his downfall.
Accused of plotting against President Siaka Stevens’ government, Bangura was arrested and controversially executed in 1970.
His death left a legacy of sorrow and injustice, symbolizing the fragility of democracy in post-colonial Africa.
Many remember him as a patriot betrayed by the very system he defended...

Please, if you can, make a video about how Siaka Stevens ended up. I mean, from his rise to power till his death. Thank you 👍

I still remember Babangida's chilling words about the consequences of a failed Coup. Real officers know it; Ambition and death are indeed strange bedfellows. I love the panache with which a captured Buka Suka Dimka related how he tried to take over Nigeria after assassinating Murtala...He knew that the die was cast;(consequences of a failed Coup) sorry for using Nigerian examples on S. Leone, but I think there's no country where soldiers have dared in pursuit of power like Naija, in Africa and in this case; West Africa!
