Albert Schweitzer (January 14, 1875 – September 4, 1965) was a theologian of Alsacean descent. He was born in Kaisersberg, Alsace-Lorraine which at that time was still part of Germany. After the Allied victory in World War I in 1918, he changed his nationality to French based on his Alsacean lineage.
