Why Micro Mobility and Public Transit Work Better TOGETHER!

Micromobility - electric bicycles, e-scooters and other forms of rechargeable personal low-speed transportation - is the most affordable way to dump the pump and go electric.

But public transit isn't always compatible with micromobility - and that's putting more people off leaving the car at home than we'd like.

Here's how to solve that.

brompton e-bike has been best transport purchase i've ever made. has allowed me to delay car purchase by years (or maybe never again). and i'm in north america so biggest downside has been drivers and lack of cycle infrastructure where i am. but i gladly ride the grey area of local laws and own the road where i must.

Down here in florida, tampa area, bike theft is a big thing. Started seeing bike locker boxes at gas stations. Roll your bike into a metal box and put your lock on the door. Makes hiding a more expensive bike easier.

Here in the Rogue Valley in Southern Oregon, I use my 100% human powered bicycle to get around. Until my 2020 Chevrolet Bolt EV is fixed, this will be my main form of transportation.

Shared scooter and bike services and the like make excellent supplements to transit. Just need docks or scooters available near your start & end points

I disagree that consuming more EVs will reduce CO2 emissions. Consuming less “of everything” might. Having the option to not drive an ICE car but instead relying on a mix of PEV and urban mass transit will extend the life of the ICE vehicle somewhat, especially if the ICE vehicle is driven on trips where only an ICE vehicle will do. People forget how much CO2 is emitted just making a new BEV
