Flyzone DHC-2 Beaver Island Wings Review (LEMON?)

Received this kit for my birthday. ESC was bad out of the box, the landing wheels had crushed foam ends, and wide gap between the aileron and flap. Waiting for a replacement ESC so until then it's grounded.

Most ESC's can be acessed by leaving the throttle all the way up when turning the transmitter on and making sure the receiver is powered up. You will then have to count the series of beeps, after the initial start up beeps. The sequence of beeps starts out as one beep, then a series of beeps, then two beeps and a series of beeps. You respond by lowering the throttle, at that point you will be in the program mode. Each ESC has their own series of beeps that tell you what program you are in. One is soft start, two is hard start, motor brake, speed control limit ( the one you are experiencing) If the throttle was left up on startup, and that part of the program was acessed, then it would limit the speed to whatever the throttle was set at. My guess is thats exactly what happened. Sounds like whomever you talked to didnt want to mess with it, or bother to take the time to explain it. Instead, she just shipped you a new ESC. I would bank good money on it. I have however gone through two ESC's on my Apprentice. If you can get the programming card or the instruction sheet, you can fix that issue. Most people get confused trying to count the beeps and remember what series of beeps does what. Dynam ESC's are always messed up. There is also a timing program on the ESC, it has to do with motor rotation and how the ESC operates. Dynam fina lly started sending instructions on how to fix the issue but people got fed up and do what I do, tear the Detrum ESC and get a Turnigy
. Lol.I have a box full of them. Oh, Now they offer a program card at Motion RC.

I just bought this. Waiting on the Rx I ordered to show up. Dude, for the price you can't really complain. I got it from Tower with discount code it was $170 shipped. Can't expect miracles for short money like that. Now when I get the 1/4 scale Beaver arf at $600, THAT plane better be perfect.

After listening again it did seem to stay the same from like half throttle all the way up.

Saw this video and I myself just bought one. I also have the original orange and black one its excellent and no problems to date. Suggest you finish the plane take the floats off put the tundra tire gear set on install the prop and go to the field. Pretty sure by the sound of engine that it will indeed fly. Sounds similar and my beaver has all the power to fly like crazy. Go on a non windy day and try it out. It will either fly or not. Make sure you take the brake off so the prop free spins after pulling the power off. Good luck!!!

Every one of these cons they will replace. Shipping foam planes can cause issues but tower is very good about this.

I hope my esc is ok I've had my beaver for months still in the box lol. The orange version. Been busy with work so when I've had time the weather sucks every time

I want to finish it but I'm waiting for the replacement ESC. It's scheduled to come in this week. More to come.

It's only a 950 kv motor that thing might be fine that's why it has the large prop. I would try installing the prop and see how it works. Then again I could be very wrong but on my end it didn't sound too bad.

I did open my box when I first got it and had a small dent in a wing the sent me a new set. If I was you I would consider this get your wings replaced.

haa I've brought 5 beavers so far and not one has had any major Your beaver sounds 100% normal
