Haha, can't wait. Interested to see what everyone came up with!

The homebrew voice chat is a great place to share ideas or play some golf. Often at the same time.

"sometimes we play golf late at night"
True.

I was imagining a homebrew Warlock Patron based on floating, teleporting, unaffected by gravity, head you.

Off the top of my head, id make an npc that's locked in a mirror and has infinite knowledge, but sounds like a normal guy. A magic item (bracers) that gives+2 wisdom, and gives the ability to cast a minor illusion that summons your head and they can ask 2 questions. This is available 2 times per long rest. Or something like that.

It's weird a thing to learn that someone made something based off of you? Oh... Ha. I guess I'll just put these effigi... I mean sacrif... I mean funcopop dolls (?) in the garbage.

I have an idea for a character, where they're a tree that was used to hang people in a village until somebody casted animate object on it. Now it's become strictly obsessed with justice and dealing out punishment. How do I make this work?

Oh, Great Sage Cinder, hear my query:
For the first time ever, I built a character with an actual long-term build. I'm pleased with the end version, but want to make sure I have fun getting there. What's the best way to do that? Should I stick with one class until I get as far as I want with it, or switch back and forth leveling them up together?
(Build in question is fighter and monk.)

My dm used 2 9th level spells on our party (meteor swarm and some chain one I don't remember) when we tried to escape an army that was sent after us, we were level 7 at the time (also keep in mind that most of the party were captured before hand, so we were still inclined to try to go back and save them). The dm said that since it was a whole army they could conjure it together. I had questions like who could teach them this magic, how is this at all Balanced in this campaign if people are able to cast the ninth level spells while we're still only level seven and the DM had no answer. And the only reason that I could tell the DM did this was because we weren't being railroaded like they wanted us to. And in the end we ended up being broken out by a group of bandits. Am I wrong to be upset.

If you make maps for your game worlds, what do you use to make them? I’m talking continental maps, not battlemaps or town maps.

How would you make a warlock pc with multiple patrons, because it sounds really cool but in don’t know how to balance it right?

My friends and me, who never played dnd before, started a campaign, which I'm DMing.
One of my players' character is really into being a pacifist, not wanting to kill monsters and negotiating with them, and I think it's awesome. I want to encourage that, but Idk how to do it without derailing everything and making my other players feel bad for killing monsters. Any advice ?
