It’s certainly an awesome looking survival knife. What do you think? Is it more than just cool looks? What would you put inside your hollow handle?

The saw was actually designed for cutting through an aluminum fuselage of an aircraft, survival knives like this were originally designed for pilots, it also functions as a wire cutter

Direction of the saw teeth simply determines direction of the cut. In this case, it would cut on a pull not on the push which is not common for European saws but very common for Japanese saws.

One of the reasons the knife doesn't extend all the way through the handle is because putting metal next to a compass would disrupt its magnetic field and it wouldn't point exactly north. But that's dumb because you can just not put a compass on your knife

The teeth are not for sawing, they are designed to pull Charlie's guts out after you stab him in the belly.

When the Police sees me with that knife:" Oh no, i am trying to navigate using the compass😂"

Dude I'm old enough to remember when these were everywhere. The hollow handle came with a "survival" kit inside, the sheath had a crude whetstone, and you constantly had to tighten the blade using the nut in the handle. Damn, did it sure make you feel as badazz as rambo

He had different knives during the movies, will you do a short about other ones, too?

They talk about the need for a full tang in Metal Gear Solid 3 when Snake calls Sigint on his radio with the knife equipped. Sigint made him a 'survival knife' with all sorts of things in the handle, but Snake instead took a basic knife on the mission for the full tang durability.

Sigint tooks notes and decided to add the survival tools onto the sheath in his next design.

Damn it's such a shame because this knife looks so cool.

That knife is so iconic, even with it's faults it still has a great blade shape. The weapon represents rambo very well, being refined on the surface but being deeply flawed.

1. hollow handle is not inherently a bad feture. It just has extremely low tolerant to lower grade material or lower grade manufacturing techniques. Randall knives and many other companies did it right, though with a much higher selling price.
2. The sawback can be effective as a saw if done right. This feture exsists since the 19th century, and though it was never main stream, this concept never dies.
