Classic TV Theme: Get Christie Love! (three versions)

'Get Christie Love!' (1974) was America's first network hour drama with an African-American female in the lead. Teresa Graves played a streetwise undercover detective. Like other streetwise tv detectives, she had a catchphrase: 'You're under arrest, Sugah!' The movie-of-the-week pilot did well, but the series faltered. Halfway through they gave her a new boss (Jack Kelly) with a promise of more light-hearted fun. This was fine with the star, who had become a Jehovah's Witness and was concerned about the show's content. But the series continued to flounder and ended after 22 episodes. There were three different themes over that one season and they're all represented here.
0:00 Original opening titles, first theme: 'Get Christie Love', music by Luchi de Jesus, lyrics by Paul Mason.
1:00 Opening titles, second theme: Instrumental by Jack Elliott and Allyn Ferguson; it lasted two weeks.
1:58 Opening titles, third theme: Instrumental by Glen A Larson and Stu Phillips. Rated the best of the three in the book 'Crime and Spy Jazz on TV' (they *hated* theme #1).
2:59 End credits, first 'Christie Love' theme.

1) I liked the first theme by Luchi de Jesus and Paul Mason. 2) Teresa Graves was my high school crush when she was on Laugh-In years before. 3) Charles Cioffi, who played her first boss, played Lt. Androzzi in the first Shaft movie, 1971. 4) The other two themes were not all that good nor that exciting! 5) I remember an earlier program from producer David L. Wolper: Hollywood and the Stars, narrated by Joseph Cotten. I think it was on ABC-TV in the early '60's. 6) Christie's catchphrase "You're under arrest, Sugah!" was pretty cool. It would rank right up there with Aunt Esther's catchphrase "Watch it, sucker!"

Get Christie Love first aired on Wednesdays at 10pm ET. It was opposite against 2 new shows on the other 2 networks, both starring men: CBS's The Manhunter (with Ken Howard) and NBC's Petrocelli (with Barry Newman; was the only one to survive for another season).
It would later move to Fridays, same time.
It aired against movies on CBS and NBC's newest police show Police Woman, starring Angie Dickinson as Sgt. Pepper Anderson.
And Christie Love was no match for Pepper Anderson.

Get Christie Love! From the Producers of Chico and the Man and Welcome Back Kotter and from the studio who gave us Colombo, Kojak, Magnum, P.I., Knight Rider, Miami Vice, Murder She Wrote, New York Undercover and Law & Order: SVU

after David Wolper stepped down as Executive Producer, Glen Larson creator of Magnum, P.I. & Knight Rider took over as Executive Producer

Too bad the series was given a bad time slot as it was up against Angie Dickinson as Sgt. Pepper Anderson aka Police Woman

God Bless Teresa Graves, R.I.P. Christie Love

The first one was the best (frankly, the only one I remember) - the second was dreadful! The third one tried to fix the second one, but was still awful.
Two and three? you're both under arrest, sugah!!

I'd like to know why production for the series moved to Universal from Wolper's company (who did the pilot movie themselves).
