The 20th century was defined by America’s drive for innovation. If we want the 21st century to carry on that legacy, we need to cultivate innovation amongst our allies, too.

That’s according to Bonnie Glick, at least. Bonnie Glick is currently the director of the Krach Institute for Tech Diplomacy at Purdue, as well as a senior advisor to the Center for Strategic and International Studies. She previously served as the Deputy Administrator for the United States Agency for International Development during the Trump administration, and before that, worked at IBM as a global account executive for twelve years, where she co-authored three patents. She believes that the next big wave of innovation in emerging technologies should come from outside the United States, but with our help and guidance along the way.

We sat down with Bonnie to discuss the issues the U.S. and our allies are facing, how things have changed since the fall of the Berlin Wall, and how we can stay ahead of the curve in the technological “arms race” of the 21st century.
