I have literally thought of this in my dreams.

If you don't get the idea, when you are a zombie you get a piece of your chosen item inside of the zombie area, you can use it if you want before the zombie gate opens, because after that gate opens your item is going to refresh if you used it already, so I've just found a way to actually make a good use out of the shield bubble "preview" piece instead of wasting it :)

you can definitely find a better angle to cover more area, but, keep in mind that the closer you get to the gate the harder it is to do the trick, if you throw too early it will hit the barrier before it opens, if you throw it too late, you just wasted your level 1 item already.
