Some draws are that way where both players end up kicking themselves feeling they should have won. You made a good recovery to gather yourself and then play a very good endgame to hold for a draw. Dina bringing the deadpan humour to the pre match interview. Russian, so culturally she’s not allowed to smile when she jokes she’s been preparing against Anna for a fortnight. I thought her shirt change early in the match was simply that the pineapple shirt was cooler to play in because of the shorter sleeves than her long sleeved white shirt. Watching everyone who crossed the camera, everyone else was in very lightweight Summer clothes, all with bare arms. The Hall looked so beautiful and airy, but I got the feeling it was a little hot inside.

Do the stars on moves indicate an engine best move? If so both you and Dina were on fire, especially in the back half.

What a roller coaster game! I was watching live and was so happy when you were a piece up, wow did it hurt when you blundered a piece! Ouch, first time I have been sad in a while 8-( I thought you would then surely lose against Dina, she is so good at the end game, but then you drew, and I did a happy dance! The neighbors thought someone won the World Cup! Wow, up and down and up again! Hope you enjoy California, it would be cool to see around the villa/mansion, it looks so nice! Hope you get some coastal fog, it's pretty dramatic in the morning sometimes. If you get a chance, Santa Barbara pier, Pismo beach, Hearst Castle, Monterey, Santa Cruz, ... and the coast road are all worth a visit!

i'm so glad i was able to catch the rook endgame live, and Pia's commentary was top-notch as always. it really helped me take the edge of an unenjoyable previous night and poor sleep.

still, i really have to feel for your disappointment in yourself for that bishop you blundered. ah well, you can't win 'em all, and a draw was indeed still a great result against Dina considering how sure she sounded about beating you.
