Without a dramatically different OS experience, the base model iPad is good for the vast majority of people. The experience feels almost the exact same for the same cost as a Magic Keyboard

I’m betting the 12.9 Air will be the most popular new iPad because the extra screen is all many current iPad Air owners want. The 12.9/13 inch Pro with OLED will be next most popular because it’s supposed to be a bit lighter with a fraction more battery usability. The 11” Pro brings up the rear. The issue for all of them is the peripheral/accessory additional costs like that way overpriced keyboard, which puts them at a point where going with an older M2 model with cheaper p/a from third-party makers being a decision factor.

Yeah, primary audience for the 13” iPP will be as a laptop replacement for power users who prefer iPadOS to MacOS (like me; primarily because VoiceOver is so much more easily used than is the accessibility software in macOS).

The same thing was said about the previous iPads. I was waiting for it as it was slated to roll out last March. It did not and I ended up getting a Samsung Galaxy Tab S9+. The discounts and price cuts were just too tempting.

unless Apple provides extra ports, and iPadOS would need to take a ton of leaps, a M3 processor, more RAM and a new screen or build is not going to cut it.

i dont see a way an iPad can maximize the performance of a M3.

As an M1 IPad Pro owner, due to the lack of capabilities presented by IPadOS, have yet to use my iPad Pro to its potential let alone exceed that potential to the point of needing an upgrade. There’s a reason the iPad product line is declining so much in sales and I doubt an updated screen and processor is going to help.

I am hoping for the following: Stage manager be more dex. Apple releases a first party solution to Remote onto your Mac. Calculator app. Have the magnetic connectors to come to more 3rd party manufacturers not just Logitech. Ability to use universal control on IPad & iPhone.

🐬 Great Video. There are pros and cons to be solely an iPad user, but if it possible to own a Mac and an iPad, then I think that works for most workflows. I am still excited for the new iPads because mine is currently ancient by tech standards 😂.

If I’m the one that makes decisions, I’ll enable iPad Pro to support dual external display like the new MBA, and use the self-screen as the largest magic trackpad.
