Nordic goddess. She was beautiful, wild and free. We needed so much of Anita.

One of my favorite lines in history: “Marcello, come here, hurry up.” ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT.

Filmed March 16-23, 1959. The famous scene in the Trevi Fountain was shot over a week in March, when nights were still cold. According to Federico Fellini (in an interview with Costanzo Costantini), Anita Ekberg stood in the cold water in her dress for hours without any trouble. Marcello Mastroianni, on the other hand, had to wear a wetsuit beneath his clothes, and even that wasn't enough. Still freezing, he downed an entire bottle of vodka, so that he was completely drunk while shooting the scene.

Anita Ekberg in this movie puts herself alongside Grace Kelly in Rear Window, Rita Hayworth in Gilda and Anna Karina in Alphaville as the most beautiful women ever captured in cinema. What an outrageously captivating movie La Dolce Vita is, Fellini’s best in my opinion

It was freezing cold in the middle of winter. The citten pissed on her head and Marcello had to have huge amounts of whisky to make this scene as well as heavy underwere whilst Anita - a daughter of the vikings - walked around in the Fontana with no trouble at all.

The best aesthetic scene of the history.
Esta escena es la mejor de la historia del cine. Donde se funde a la perfección la insuperable belleza del renacimiento italiano con el septimo arte. "Marcello... come here..."
La Dolce Vita es una obra maestra absoluta a revisitar siempre.

Ekberg was a cinematic personification of Aphrodite in this film. <3

I've always found great humour that just at the moment he is about to kiss her suddenly it is dawn and the magic has evaporated and the guy on the bike is staring at them. The magic of the moment you must take it or it disappears like magic.
In the end, all he gets for his trouble is this memory and a punch in the gut from her boyfriend.

in this immortal sequence anita has truly turned into venus, the roman goddess of love. -- "marcello.... come here !" -- and marcello DOES hear her call. how all the magic disappears in the end is magic in itself and typical fellini, the greatest of all movie magicians of all times.

je suis pas un grand fan du cinéma italien, mais en tant que cinéphile, il faut admettre que cette scène fait partie à tout jamais du patrimoine mondial cinématographique.
