At 4:50 why didn't black play KD6. He would lose a pawn but save his knight, no?

I have seen a lot of Tal games but dont find him that brilliant. Yes he sacrifices left, right and centre but that only complicates the game and may be confuses the opponent, other than that I dont see any brilliancy in his sacrifices. Truly briliant were Paul Morphy, Steinitiz, Alekhine, Anderson, Rashid Nezh etc. Tal for me is quite overrated.
