The recording and not the ragas is rare. Records/CDs are much better than live performances these days because there is no question of compromising to please the blunt modern audience. My pick is the Pahadi, rarely this neglected raga is played so exquisitely in sitar now-a-days.

Ustad Shahid Parvez is the most complete Sitarist alive today. No one gives as much satisfaction to a discerning listener than USP. He is the third greatest milestone of Sitar vadan after Ustad Vilayat Khan Sahib and Ustad Raees Khan Sahib. He will never be bettered for taan tayyari and clarity of notes, as well as for completeness of raag exposition. His is also the most singing Sitar after Vilayat Khan's. His layakari is out of this world, and can only be a lesson to other professional sitarists. Very grateful for this upload. Thank you.

Jane kitni baar sunti hoon, Hur baar pahalel se aur bhi zyada achcha lagta hai, ibaadat ki jhalak liye hue ek suron ka sailaab Sa jaise ho, jisne sari kaynaat ko ek aise ehsaas se guzarta hai ki jo ise mahsoos kar lega use jaise Khuda mil jaega .

Miyan malhar is my favourite raga, playing so beautifully by Ustadji, really it gives me a lot of peace, I used to listen specially this recording many of the times, amazing, Wonderful, in Bengali there is a word asadharon , speechless I am .

My most fovoutite raga, playing so beautifullly that i cannot express. i used to listen this particularly to start my day to regain me as well as at night to have peace. Hat's off to Guruji, he is really doing a nice job at the place of God for the entire universe. Each and every recital of any raga is just like a Godly thing..
