The Outer Worlds: Spacer’s Choice Edition is the ultimate way to play the award-winning RPG from Obsidian Entertainment and Private Division. Available now.

You’ve tried the rest, now come back to the best! The Outer Worlds: Spacer’s Choice Edition includes the base game and all add-on content as the definitive way to play the beloved RPG from Obsidian Entertainment. This remastered masterpiece is optimized to be the absolute best version of The Outer Worlds… even if you choose to play this critically acclaimed RPG as the absolute worst version of your character.

Lost in transit while on a colonist ship bound for the edge of the galaxy, you awake decades later only to find yourself in the midst of a deep conspiracy threatening to destroy the colony. Explore the various planets and locations of Halcyon, including the mysterious Gorgon Asteroid and delightful distilleries of Eridanos. As you encounter various factions, all vying for power, the character you decide to become will determine how this player-driven story unfolds.

In the corporate equation for the colony, you are the unplanned variable.

Key Features:

It’s The Outer Worlds you love, but even better: 2019’s hit RPG has been remastered with better graphics, improved performance, additional animations, higher-res environments, and more.

Increased level cap: A higher level cap means even more ways to build your character from the seven branches of the skill tree.

The player-driven story RPG: In keeping with the Obsidian tradition, how you approach The Outer Worlds is up to you. Your choices affect not only the way the story develops, they also affect your character build, companion stories, and end game scenarios.

Lead your companions: During your journey through the furthest colony, you will meet a host of characters who will want to join your crew. Armed with unique abilities, these companions all have their own missions, motivations, and ideals. It's up to you to help them achieve their goals, or exploit them to your own ends.

Explore the corporate colony: Halcyon is a colony at the edge of the galaxy owned and operated by a corporate board. They control everything... except for the alien monsters left behind when the terraforming of the colony’s two planets didn’t exactly go according to plan. Find your ship, build your crew, and explore the settlements, space stations, and other intriguing locations throughout Halcyon.

Players who already have The Outer Worlds and its associated DLC, Murder on Eridanos and Peril on Gorgon, for Xbox One, Xbox Series S/X, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 or PC (Steam, GOG.com, Epic Games Store, or Windows Store), can upgrade to The Outer Worlds: Spacer’s Choice Edition for the latest console generation within that same console family or, if applicable, from that same PC store at a reduced purchase price.*

*Based on Private Division’s suggested retail price for The Outer Worlds: Spacer’s Choice Edition. Limit of one upgrade per account. See platform store for details and terms.

In my opinion this should be a free patch to those who already own the base game and the two DLC packs, and a paid upgrade to those who own only the base game.

Should be free for "Season Pass" owners! Ironically how a company making a game about "greedy corporations" tries to sell a patch to his customers and selling it as a "upgrade feature"...

This should be free update for season pass owners

There is a part where the theme of the game criticizes a corrupt businessman, but they follow it exactly the same...

Visuals can be changed by ReShade and level cap has already been changed with a mod, you are basically asking people to pay for bug fixes that should be free. 15$ to upgrade if you've already bought the entire game and no new content or modding support?

Selling patch to slightly improve the graphics? No thanks. It should be free for those who bought the original version.

This is it right here everyone.
In five to ten years when we're paying for day 1 patches, this is where it began.
This is the 'horse armor' for patches.

This is like that Office meme of Pam saying "they're the same picture"

I love this game and I am happy to see an update, but I already own the all the dlc and what you are offering should be a free patch

A new dawn is upon us. Paying for performance and retexture patches. Obsidian Entertainment and Private Division, life imitating art.

Ironic that this DLC embodies the same shitty corporate practices this game criticizes.

This company has some nerve. Charging $50 for KSP 2 in its current state. Now charging $10 for a patch? Jokers. You'll never see another penny of my money.

I really like The Outer Worlds... but selling a glorified update patch to people who own the game and DLC?
That's a new level of anti-consumer scumbaggery.
Considering the game is a satirical critique of hyper capitalism, this isn't just insulting to the customer but to the developers as well.

Its worth noting that on the Steam store page, 'Virtuos Games' is now listed alongside Obsidian and Private Division (for the 'Spacers Choice' edition).
VG appear to be a games asset mill that churns stuff out for larger studios...
to me, this indicates some pencil neck at Private Division likely decided to outsource them for a few assets so they could slap a 'remaster' label on it.

Performance patches should be free. Full stop.
And— a handful of textures, animations, and a brown ReShade filter don't make this a remaster.

Obsidian is obviously focused on OW2, and Xbox Game Studios is publishing that title, not Private Division... But you lot are dragging their name in the mud with your garbage anti-consumer practices.

Not paying for what should be a patch. I got the game with all DLC and they want to charge me extra for a little graphical uplift and an unlocked levelcap which is just hilarious since there's not enough XP around in the game to ever level up that high.

What irony for a game that ridicules excessive corporatism to be trying a cheap cashgrab like this. Congratulations Take-Two/Obsidian, you played yourselves!

I have a game with all dlc (XsX). What should I pay for?

Digital only, and those who already own the game and dlc are being charged $10 for what is essentially and update patch, HARD pass

Private Division is so salty about losing the rights to Outer Worlds 2 that they want to milk the first game for everything they can. You are the corpos the game warns us against.

If I have the base game + season pass I shouldn't have to pay for a performance patch from a game that's years old. That's pretty scummy 😠

How about bug fixes? I still can't complete Roscoe's quest from Peril on Gorgon. Well I sort of can just can't do the option of dropping off recordings at the auto mech

This should be an update on the PC version. Although, I am very interested to see how well the improved visuals and better optimization will perform.
