This is not the original score, it's from the "Batman Trilogy" compilation, released in 1997 by Varese Sarabande, featuring re-recordings from Batman, Returns and Forever (plus an orchestral version of the 1966 theme).

This is such a beautiful scene for a sympathetic villain.

This scene and song always gets to me even to this day. Ever since i lost my parents at a young age i cant help but start tearing up because of just this scene.

Even I couldn’t help crying because of this scene especially when my dearly departed dog passed away

I like to imagine (all unforeseen continuity errors aside) the events of "Batman Returns" occurring shortly after those of "The Dark Knight" since it would make sense for Penguin's hero persona to fill the void left behind by a corrupted Harvey Dent (before, invariably, another "hero" betrays Gotham).

Doesn’t anyone notice the roses he puts on the graves are dead? That’s not something saying RIP in my book.

I think Royal Scottish National Orchestra did a better job. I used to have this CD as a kid. Underrated gem of compositions.

This is from 1992.
1997 was just a compilation.

The movie's novelization implies that he actually killed them

@ 02:34 what a fantastic shot. Plus we do remember when his parents tried to kill him. I think thats what he remembers when he turns to stand with his head up & walks away

the whole score for this film is so amazing... ...that I can forgive the Hilarius wobbling grave prop at 2:11 lol.

His parent should be proud of their son now. Well, a t least he grew up into a proper "gentleman"

Watch the tombstone he bumps into at 2:11 .

The scene saddens me because it reminds me that the WHOLE film could have had this kind of dignity.

This recording's version of Waltz to the death is wonderful! Too bad the full album can´t be found online

1:36 Almost sounds like Sandman’s theme from Spider-Man 3.

This is one of my favourite tracks from the Batman Returns soundtrack but I still prefer the original version of this part of the track from 1:37 to 1:53 because this version sounds off
