This is not the original score, it's from the "Batman Trilogy" compilation, released in 1997 by Varese Sarabande, featuring re-recordings from Batman, Returns and Forever (plus an orchestral version of the 1966 theme).

I like to imagine (all unforeseen continuity errors aside) the events of "Batman Returns" occurring shortly after those of "The Dark Knight" since it would make sense for Penguin's hero persona to fill the void left behind by a corrupted Harvey Dent (before, invariably, another "hero" betrays Gotham).

I think Royal Scottish National Orchestra did a better job. I used to have this CD as a kid. Underrated gem of compositions.

This is one of my favourite tracks from the Batman Returns soundtrack but I still prefer the original version of this part of the track from 1:37 to 1:53 because this version sounds off
