Christina Applegate reveals multiple sclerosis diagnosis l GMA

The actress, 49, revealed her diagnosis of the autoimmune disease Tuesday, writing on Twitter, "A few months ago I was diagnosed with MS. It's been a strange journey ... It's been a tough road."

There are so many treatments these days. It’s gone from 3 options to 13 in a decade. I have MS and I know people who have gone 20 years without a flare up. I’ve gone 7 years without a flare up since my diagnosis.

My mom was diagnosed at 50. She is 68 now. Thankfully she's only had mild symptoms all these years. Mostly fatigue and some balance issues sometimes. For a long time (10 + years) she took daily shots. Prayers.

There are different types. My sister was diagnosed more than 25 years ago. They gave her some medication but it made her real sick. Basically she gets debilitating headaches and will spend a day in bed once in a while. She's still active and hasn't lost her ability to walk. Still very strong
