KGM Torres ICE Review

Welcome everyone to my review of the KGM Torres.

Since Sang Yong has rebranded KGM the first model to be released is the new Torres. All new car, all new platform, and available as an electric or full petrol car. Only with the petrol car, do you get the option of all wheel drive.

Available with two trim levels, the K30 and K40. The entry-level trim being already very well kitted out with standard equipment. Moving up to the top of the range to get things such as ventilated seats, larger 20 inch alloy wheels and full leather interior.

When it comes to styling, the Torres definitely comes with a rough and rugged look, which pays homage to the SUC's of yesteryear. With hits of Land Rover, Jeep and Toyota, if you're gonna remember the rugged SUV's of the past, you've definitely picked some good ones!!

Underneath the Torres is a 1.5L turbocharged 4 cylinder petrol engine. With 161bhp and 280Nm. 0-62 takes 10.8s via 6 speed Auto. Performance I'd say is fine, however economy isn't the best at 28.3mpg on a combined WLTP cycle.

I hope you enjoy this full review of the new KGM Torres.

I like that mind you I said I'd prefer the Rexton you reviewed over any Jaguar/Land Rover products. Great review again.

Just going through the dashboard options on my new AWD Torres and found the factory settings for the mpg on the screen are US gallons and so changed to the optional UK gallon and am now averaging 39 mpg on most journeys so far.
It's a lot less on the US gallon setting

Nice video as usual - would be interested to see how the AWD feels which makes this a much more logical buy at this price range. Shame they didn’t add a sunroof and wireless CarPlay- makes no sense having wireless chargers in cars if you still have to connect with a cable. KGM aren’t alone in this but I’d say in 2024 there’s no excuse for not having wireless.
