Recruit School A-2025: Final Entrance Test

The last step in the journey to enter the DPS Academy as a Trooper Trainee is to complete the final entrance test as a recruit. Earlier this week, 146 men and women stepped up to the challenge and proved they have what it takes to join us at the Academy.

Fortitude is built one step at a time, and Class A-2025 is ready to take on the challenge of becoming DPS Troopers. We can’t wait to see all that they accomplish over the next 30 weeks at the DPS Academy.

Our Class B-79 June 12th, through October 12th. 1979 started with around 160 recruits. eighteen weeks later we graduated 69 Troopers. On October 12th, 2024 our class had a 45 class year reunion. It was nice to see my classmates again. Wishing y'all the best from B-79. Stay safe and stay vigilant out there.

I have a question: if you voluntarily committed yourself to a mental hospital and have been diagnosed with MDD (Major Depression Disorder) that is controlled with an anti-depressant... can you still become a trooper?
