Das Rock Hard Festival ist eines der wichtigsten Metal-Happenings in der Republik. Pfingsten 2017 waren auch die Blues Pills im Gelsenkirchener Amphitheater dabei!
Harter Bluesrock aus Schweden mit Soul-Stimme. Das Quartett Blues Pills kreirt eine Rock’n’Roll-Atmosphäre, die direkt zu ihren musikalischen Ahnen führt: die frühen Fleetwood Mac, Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin und Cactus.
Kaum zu glauben, dass es sich bei diesen im schwedischen Örebro wohnenden Zeitreisenden um recht junge Leute handelt. Die Stimme von Sängerin Elin Larsson wird häufig mit Aretha Franklin oder Janis Joplin verglichen. Gemeinsam mit Bassist Zack Anderson schreibt sie die meisten Band-Texte. Es geht um große Themen wie der Suche nach der Seele, den Sinn des Lebens, aber auch um Familie und Freunde. Blues Pills wirken authentisch und bewahren sich neben ihrer Liebe zu allem, was in den späten Sechzigern in San Francisco Rang und Namen hatte, eine eigene Identität.
